Allergy and Anaphylaxis Awareness for Schools (Benedict's Law)

Target Audience: The course is suitable for all school staff required to undertake training in line with Benedict’s Law. effective in schools from September 2026.

Duration: Approximately 1 hour

Course Aim:  The aim of this course is to enable school staff to recognise and respond appropriately to allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis, within educational settings. It supports schools in meeting current national guidance and strengthened allergy safety expectations linked to Benedict’s Law.

  • Anaphylaxis – Emergency Response

  • Understanding Adrenaline Medication (AAI’s and EURneffy nasal spray)

  • Biphasic Anaphylaxis (Second Wave Reactions)

  • Allergy Action Plans

  • Storing and Accessing Adrenaline Medication

  • Allergies and Associated Health Conditions

  • Food Hypersensitivity including food allergies, food intolerance and coeliac disease

Assessment and Certification

Learners are assessed through self-checks as they progress through the course and an end of course multiple choice assessment.

On successful completion, learners can download a certificate which can be used as verifiable CPD
